A QR Code is a type of graphic that stores information in a compact, easily scannable format, similar to traditional barcodes used in stores, but with the capability to hold much more data and link directly to digital content.
A QR Code is a type of graphic that stores information, much like the barcodes used in retail, but with the ability to hold significantly more data. You can easily retrieve the information stored in a QR Code by scanning it with an app on your phone or tablet. In our system, we use QR Codes to store the unique digital fingerprint that identifies an electronic signature, making it simple to access and verify the associated digital information.
Every electronic signature generated through our platform is assigned a unique fingerprint, which is securely stored in a URL. When we create the cover page PDF for your document, this URL is embedded within the document, allowing you to click the link when viewing it on a computer, phone, or tablet.
Without a QR Code, you would need to manually type the URL into your web browser, which is cumbersome and prone to errors. Instead, by simply scanning the QR Code with a scanner, you are automatically redirected to the signature verification page, where you can easily confirm the authenticity of the signature and view the relevant information.
While we are working on developing our own QR Code scanning applications for iPhone, Android, and other platforms, in the meantime, you can use any standard QR Code scanner to verify your e-signatures. Here are some links to popular QR Code scanning apps for various mobile devices.
