3. Boundary protection and interfaces e.g., configured firewalls and security considerations for BYOD (bring your own device).
4. Protecting data at rest and in transit e.g., through data encryption
5. User and administrator separation of data
6. Users security controls e.g., Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS)
7. Security testing with regular IT Health Checks (ITHCs)

If all these conditions are met and consequently, approved by Government assessors, a PSN certification is issued and IT providers can supply their services to public sector organisations via the Public Service Network.
